Samsung, Verizon are jumping into 5G together with next Smartphone

According to Reuters, Verizon and Samsung have teamed up to launch 5G smartphones in the U.S. in the first half of 2019. The two companies said in a statement they will unveil a prototype at Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii this week. The news comes despite industry analysts saying 5G networks are unlikely to be widely available in the US until the middle of the next decade. Verizon launched its first commercial 5G service in October this year in the cities of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
